Given that;
1) Jesus teaches us to seek non-violent resolutions to conflict by "turning the other cheek" among other tactics,
2) God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow,
3) God is sovereign and just and has the right to create and destroy at his whim as well as carry out justice which is typically violent,
why does God use Joshua and the people of Israel to extract His justice on the people of Jericho in violence? Why does God not instead carry out His justice on Jericho in the sight of Israel (like He did in Egypt) and not soil their hands with the blood of these?
